Azure Outage

On October 29, 2025 Azure experienced an outage affecting Azure Front Door which is Microsoft’s CDN. This caused many failures across Microsoft’s services, including admin portals, documentation pages, and other Azure services. Microsoft states that a configuration change was inadvertently applied and that “The change introduced an invalid or inconsistent configuration state…” but no further details were given at the time of this writing. The failure caused a high number of failover actions which left the infrastructure unbalanced and required manual intervention to re-balance it and bring all services back to a healthy state.
