Server 25h2 Now Available
General availability for 25h2 started at the end of September, but today marks the first day this update is available in WSUS and other Enterprise environments. 25h2 shares some known issues with 24h2 but otherwise is being reported as a relatively smooth transition by some Reddit users.
On the flipside, comments for an article on techpowerup.com think the sky is falling. One user believes this is evidence enough to break up Microsoft’s monopoly on operating systems (not that I disagree with that sentiment, but a single known issue with a quick mediation has got you up in arms?), while another simply states “The future of Windows is dire.” I find these comments hilarious, because considering the scope of Microsoft Windows, a couple of mistakes in an update that are then remediated quickly are not that big of a deal. Update on a n-1 if your workloads are critical!
On another note, my org has just got to 24h2, and many of my upgrades and being met with Windows search no longer working.
